How to use Google automatically added languages

Google automatically adds languages that you frequently use in Google services. When Google adds a language, it's labeled as Added for you Added for you .

How Google uses your language settings

Google uses your language settings to make Google services more useful. When you specify your language, you help us show your content and results in one or more of your preferred languages, and provide more relevant, tailored content you might be interested in, like ads.

Fix problems with changing language

To check your Google Account language, open your Google Account. You'll find the language you selected.

  • The language change didn't work: If your Google Account doesn't match the language you selected, clear your browser's cache and cookies and set the language again.
Tip: Deleting cookies also removes your saved settings for other sites you've visited.
  • Your language isn't listed: We work to support more languages for our products. If you choose a primary language that isn't available, we may ask you to select an alternate language. If an alternate language is needed, in the Language section of your Google Account, you can find your alternate language listed beneath your primary language. You can select it to change it.
  • I use a mobile device: Changes to your preferred language are reflected on the web. To change the preferred language for mobile apps, update the language settings on your device.
